Knoxville, TN - In a game that saw many momentum changes, the Panthers eventually tied the #17 ranked Patriots 2-2 after 90 minutes.
The first half saw a 2-0 deficit for Pellissippi after some unlucky bounces of the ball went against them. At halftime, coach Abe utilized his expert game knowledge to regroup and refocus his team, and that allowed for their second-half comeback to tie a nationally ranked foe in Patrick and Henry. The game was a tough and physical fight to the end. Each team recorded yellow cards, with a total of 6 being handed out (2 for Pellissippi, and 4 for PHCC).
Patrick and Henry scored their first-half goals in the 21st and 35th minutes, while the Panthers scored their goals in the 61st and 72nd minutes. Pellissippi's first goal came on an extremely well-placed penalty kick by Felipe Coehlo in the 61st minute. The Panther's second goal came on a beautifully placed corner kick by Mario Rivera that was knocked in by Mohamed Sadiki.
Next up the Panthers will begin conference play against #20 Georgia Military College on August 31st at 4:00 PM. The match will be played at Knoxville Catholic High School.
