Knoxville, TN - Pellissippi State Women's Soccer made history on Sunday night, playing in, and winning, the first post-season match in school history. The Panthers defeated Roane State 3-0 to advance to the semi-final round and will face off against the 2-seed Motlow State on Tuesday at 3:00 CT in Tullahoma.
Suzanne Barker started off the scoring for the Panthers with a powerful cross-goal shot to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute. Erika Correa then, thanks to Isabella Altorfer being fouled in the box, knocked in a Penalty Kick in the 40th minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Finishing off the scoring on the night was Generosa Vidal in the 61st minute on a goal that was kicked into an extremely tight window to give the Panthers the 3-0 lead and the eventual final tally.
The Panthers will head to Tullahoma on Tuesday to play in the semi-final matchup against the #2 seed Motlow State, a team the Panthers have tied with twice this season already.
