Panthers Women’s Soccer Opens Season in Mississippi

Mississippi - The Panthers are set to take on two teams from Mississippi this weekend, the first on Friday against Mississippi Gulf Coast, and then Itawamba CC on Sunday. 

Heading into their first games of the season, Pellissippi returns 13 players while bringing in 12 new players. The Panthers finished tied for third in the conference last year with an 8-8 overall record and a 4-4 conference record, while also defeating raining conference champions and top-20 ranked Motlow State. Panthers head coach Mariana Diaz secured TCCAA Coach of The Year while departing sophomore Sade Lee won Player of The Year. 

The Panthers are returning 5 all-conference players from last season - (1st) Lauren Lemmo, (HM) Paige Janoyan, Kelly Cruz, Yuri Garcia, and Isabella Altorfer, while also bringing in top-tier recruits from across the world. Coach Mariana Diaz is confident in her team and their ability to compete for championships on the conference and national level.

Itawamba Community College, who the Panthers will play on Sunday, started their season with a win over Southwest Tennessee CC, who also plays in the TCCAA with the Panthers.
