Men's Soccer Heading To National Tournament in Huntsville, AL
Huntsville, AL - Pellissippi State Men's Soccer learned their place in the NJCAA Division II Men's Soccer National Tournament on Tuesday. The Panthers will travel to John Hunt Park to face off against the #1 overall seed Pima College Aztecs on Sunday Morning at 10:15 AM Central Time.
The Aztecs come into the tournament on an 11-game winning streak and 18-1 overall with their only loss coming in September to Pheonix College 2-1. Their leading scorer on the year is Ismael Ruiz with 15 goals this season. Their goalkeepers have only allowed 10 goals on the season. Compared to the Panthers, the leading scorer for Pellissippi is Alejandro Mina with 19 goals on the year and goalkeepers have only allowed 8 goals.
For the Panthers, heading into their first-ever national tournament appearance, this could be a daunting task. However, the players are unphased by the challenge and are looking forward to Sunday with a sense of courage and confidence needed to succeed.
