Knoxville, TN - A close game in the first half turned ugly quickly for the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders. The Panthers scored two goals in the 46th minute to take a 4-1 lead over the Blue Raiders and never looked back from there. The Panthers were out to make a statement before their matchup this Saturday with 10th-ranked Georgia Military College, a team that Pellissippi needs to perform well against to have hopes of making their name heard for a future NJCAA Tournament bid.
Lindsey Wilson shot out of the cannon quickly to begin the game with a goal scored in the 7th minute. The challenge for the Panthers was tough, but not insurmountable. Pellissippi State got on the board in the 23rd and 40th minutes of the first half to take a 2-1 lead thanks to goals by Tika Alhussein and Sadibou Seck.
Felipe Coehlo and Benjamin Schulz both scored in the 46th minute right after halftime to break the game wide open for the Panthers. The air seemed to let out for Lindsey Wilson after the goals, and they wouldn't get another goal across until the 88th minute. Ruben Cardoza finished off the scoring for Pellissippi State in the 77th minute, adding to the impressive offensive performance on the day.
The Panthers are next in action on Saturday 9/2 at 4:00 PM in Milledgeville, GA to face the #10 ranked Georgia Military College Bulldogs.
