Knoxville, TN - Pellissippi State routes USC Union 5-1 in dominating fashion.
The Panthers sought to remain undefeated on the year in a match against the USC Union Bantams, a team that is highly regarded in the soccer community.
The Bantams proved to be a tough matchup for the Panthers. USC Union played rough the entire match, and accrued 4 yellow cards compared to none for Pellissippi.
The first half only saw one goal on 9 shots by the Panthers, and no goals for USC Union on 6 shots. The second half is where we saw the bulk of the action with Pellissippi scoring 4 goals on 12 shots, and only allowing The Bantams to score one goal on 5 shots thanks to an incredible match by Goal Keeper Lizandro Moradel who had 7 amazing saves. He proved to be one of the biggest differences in the game.
The Panther's first-half goal was scored by Ruben Cardoza and assisted by Felipe Coehlo. The second-half goals were scored by Benjamin Schulz ('48), Felipe Coehlo ('60), Carlos Martinez ('70), and Henry Lyon ('88) and were assisted by Benjamin Schulz and Jacob Eubanks.
Pellissippi men's soccer is back in action on August 29th against Lindsey Wilson College at 1:00 PM. The match will take place at EYF Lonsdale.
