Pellissippi Men's Soccer Notches First Victory in Program History
The first goals in Pellissippi State Men’s Soccer history lifted the Panthers to victory over the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs on Thursday.
Knoxville, TN - The first goals in Pellissippi State Men's Soccer history lifted the Panthers to victory over the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs on Thursday. Tennessee Wesleyan is an NAIA four-year college, in-state foe that plays in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and would prove to be a tough matchup for the Panthers in their first-ever game.
Panthers Ben Schulz and Ruben Cardoza scored one goal each in the victory, notching their places in the Pellissippi State Athletics record books. Schulz's goal came with 14:00 left in the first period and Cardoza snuck his in with 33:00 left in the second.
The Panthers gave a smothering effort on defense, only allowing the Bulldogs to get off 3 shots the entire match. Pellissippi's offense never let up, shooting 26 shots, with 16 being on goal.

Pellissippi State Men's Soccer is back in action Wednesday afternoon (August 23rd) at 1:00 PM At EYF Lonsdale (1740 Texas Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921) for a matchup with USC Union.
