Bio
James Andrews joins Pellissippi State Community College as the Men's Head Golf Coach, bringing over 25 years of combined experience in business, sports, and leadership. A passionate golfer and coach, James has a rich athletic background that spans multiple sports, including participation in the World Junior Olympic competition, being recruited by Arizona State University for collegiate baseball, and competing in professional baseball overseas. His journey in golf began in 1997, and since 2009, he has pursued the sport professionally, with a commitment to nurturing young athletes both on and off the course.

James has honed his coaching abilities through diverse experiences, from coaching a Minor League Football team to serving as a Senior Program Director and Youth Golf Coach for First Tee of Tennessee. His coaching philosophy is grounded in building a strong foundation—"a wise man builds his foundation on rock"—ensuring that athletes are equipped to handle challenges and competition with peace and resilience. His focus on instilling values such as responsibility, respect, and integrity reflect his dedication to developing well-rounded individuals.

In addition to his coaching accomplishments, James is an active community leader, serving as a foster parent, youth pastor, and public speaker. His leadership extends to roles in community organizations, volunteer programs, and non-profits, where he has contributed to team development, event coordination, and curriculum planning.

James is excited to join Pellissippi State Community College, a respected institution that has been a cornerstone of East Tennessee for over 50 years. He looks forward to contributing to the growth of the new Athletics Program and furthering Pellissippi State's impact on the local community.
