Pellissippi State Community College Announces James Andrews as Men’s Head Golf Coach
Knoxville, TN - Pellissippi State Community College is proud to announce James Andrews as the new Men's Head Golf Coach, leading the program as part of the college's expanding Athletics Department. With over two decades of experience in sports and business leadership, James brings a unique blend of coaching expertise, athletic achievement, and community involvement to Pellissippi State.
"We are extremely excited to have Coach Andrews lead our Men's Golf Program" Athletics Director Brock Evans said. "James Brings a record of both excellence and experience to the program that will benefit our players on and off the course. Welcome, Coach Andrews!"
James Andrews has a long-standing connection to sports, having participated in the World Junior Olympic competition as a 2-sport Academic All-American and went on to play baseball professionally overseas. Since 2009, he has focused on building a successful golf career, with professional experience in both playing and coaching.
Throughout his coaching career, James has developed a reputation for fostering discipline, teamwork, and leadership in young athletes. His coaching philosophy is built on the belief that a solid foundation is key to overcoming adversity. "A wise man builds his foundation on rock," says James. "In times of trial and competition, that foundation brings peace and strength to persevere and excel."
In addition to his coaching roles, James has made a lasting impact in the community as a youth pastor, foster parent, and mentor. His commitment to service aligns with Pellissippi State's mission of community development, and he is eager to contribute to the continued success of the college's new athletic program.
