Pellissippi State Panthers Set to Face Columbia State Chargers in Championship Showdown
The Panthers are in the Region 7 Championship!
March 11, 2025 – The Pellissippi State Panthers are set to compete for the TCCAA/Region VII Championship title tonight against the Columbia State Chargers. The championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m. EST at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis.
The Panthers secured their spot in the championship with a thrilling 65-62 victory over Walters State in last night’s semifinal matchup. This win was especially significant, as Pellissippi State had previously fallen to Walters State twice during the regular season in decisive losses. Overcoming their conference rival on the tournament stage not only avenged those defeats but also demonstrated the team’s resilience and growth at a crucial moment.
Columbia State punched its ticket to the championship game with a 75-68 overtime victory against Motlow State in the TCCAA/Region VII Basketball Tournament. Their ability to thrive under pressure has set up what promises to be an intense championship battle.
The Panthers have fought through a ton of adversity during the conference tournament. Being seeded at #7 they have worked their way into the championship and are looking to bring home some hardware!
