Cross Country Sweeps Conference Championships
Harriman, TN - Pellissippi State Cross Country earns first conference championships in school history, winning both men's and women's titles and gold medalist in the men's championship.
On the women's side, Chloe Hayes finished 2nd overall (21:25.0) to lead the Panthers' efforts in the championship 5K. Jocelyn Chipoco-DeGrado (4th, 22.49.0), Brookelyn Housley (6th, 23:48.0), Ava Stewart (11th, 26:09), Hadlee Presnell (12th, 28:55), and Janna Evans (13th, 31:15) rounded out the field for the Panthers, securing the championship for the Panthers.
Hayes, Chipoco-Degrado, and Housley won All-Conference recognition for their performances.
On the men's side, Jamie Bell finished 1st overall (27:29) in the 8K to win the gold medal, with Stephen Scallion (2nd, 27:37) finishing just seconds later. Sachairi Barnett (6th, 30:24), Casey Pribish (8th, 30:46), Isaiah Spoon (11th, 31:38), and Cooper Wood (14th, 34:20) finished out the field for the Panthers, also securing the championship.
Bell, Scallion, and Barnett all earned All-Conference recognition also for their performances.
Coach Emily Roy was recognized as Coach of the Year for both the men's and women's seasons. Coach Roy has established a culture of excellence, hard work, and dedication since the beginning.
Next up for the Cross Country Teams are the NJCAA National Championships on November 9th.
