Panthers Spring Into Race Season at Knoxville Marathon, Winning the 5K
Knoxville, TN - Five Pellissippi State runners competed this past weekend in the Knoxville 5K and Marathon, some racing against their own times and some seeking new challenges. Stephen Scallion placed first in the 5K out of 1,042 runners total with a time of 16:05. Jamie Bell placed fourth overall with a time of 17:19, a time good enough for first in his age group. Connor Brock placed 11th overall and third in his age group with a time of 19:02. Bryce Winkler finished 13th overall with a time of 19:22 and fourth in his age group.
Jocelyn Chipoco-DeGrado ran and completed her very first marathon with a time of 4:02:08, coming in seventh place in her age group.
The Panthers are set to compete in one more event this Spring on Saturday, April 27th at the American Legion Freedom Run 5K.
