Bio

Amanda Shaw comes to Pellissippi State with great expectations of building a wonderful sports medicine program. She has been a certified Athletic Trainer since 2016. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Kinesiology. She then attended the University of West Alabama as a Graduate Assistant where she worked in the high school outreach program. She graduated with her Master's of Science in Physical Education in 2018. After graduate school, she stayed on staff at the University of West Alabama as the high school outreach coordinator where she served for 2.5 years. She also taught in the athletic training program and was a preceptor to the students. She loved her time at West Alabama and credits much of her success to that program and her time in Livingston.

After she left UWA, she went back home to Lincoln Memorial University where she was the Athletic Trainer for the women’s volleyball team, women’s soccer team, and softball team. She was eager to begin her time back at LMU as that is where she spent her undergraduate time and played softball for the Railsplitters as well. She ended her career with the blue and gray in 2015. Shaw was inducted into the Lincoln Memorial University Athletic Hall of Fame in October of 2022. While her time at LMU as an Athletic Trainer was short, her memories of the school and athletes will be carried with her forever.

Amanda has been married to her husband David Shaw since June 2019. They met in Alabama while working. David is a Halls High School football coach and restorative interventionist. He has been at Halls since 2021. Amanda and David welcomed their firstborn child, Oliver Shaw in April of 2023. During their small amounts of free time, they enjoy spending time with their families, watching sports, and having Mexican food dates. Amanda and David reside in Knoxville with Oliver and their pets Meeko, Peter, and Dizzy.
